- Automated Downtime Tracking: If a CNC machine stops, the PLC fires an MQTT message to the Node.js backend. The MES immediately alerts the maintenance team's mobile app and logs the exact duration of the downtime for management analytics.
3. Quality Assurance (QA) & Traceability
In sectors like aerospace or medical device manufacturing, traceability is legally mandated. If a part fails in the field 5 years later, the manufacturer must know exactly who built it, on what machine, using which batch of raw materials.
Our custom MES enforces strict QA gates:
- A worker cannot advance the digital traveler to the next workstation until they input the exact lot number of the raw material used.
- They must scan their employee badge (via RFID) and digitally sign off on the QA checklist on the tablet.
- All of this data is permanently logged in a PostgreSQL database with immutable audit trails.
4. UI/UX for the Factory Floor
The biggest mistake developers make when building MES software is designing it for a mouse and keyboard. Factory workers wear thick gloves, work in poor lighting, and have no time for complex drop-down menus.
We design High-Contrast, Touch-First UIs using Tailwind CSS. Buttons are massive. Color coding (Red/Green) is heavily utilized. Actions require a single tap or a barcode scan. The interface is deployed on rugged industrial Android tablets mounted directly to the machinery.
